Novelty wedding cakes are a real modern trend. It's your day after all - why not have a cake that really reflects on you?! We absolutely love it when somebody comes to us with really outlandish ideas, so we loved making this extra special cake. 

This gigantic three tier wedding cake features a creative woodland theme and was packed with detail. Have look below for some of the great features we made...

The first tier is inspired by a tree stump, and is decorated with handmade edible creations.. There's toadstools, acorns and wild ivy running down the side! Try spotting the hedgehogs, ladybirds and mice too!

The second tier, a ten inch rich vanilla sponge filled with real buttercream and jam, continues the forest theme with "tree trunk" supports! We covered the cake in ganache and Swiss Massa Ticino Tropic sugar paste - considered the best in the business. We then airbrushed some trees onto the sugar paste, and made the design come alive by attached some edible 3d oak and ivy leaves. Check out the cute owls in the middle!

The final tier, a tall 8" chocolate cake, resembles the tops of the trees and the sky. Once our signature chocolate cake was covered in ganache and fondant, we airbrushed it and hand painted bird details and a few leaves on the trees. Then for real effect we made the clouds three dimensional. The bride and groom are represented by Sylvanian bunnies sat in the clouds!
